A leather mid calf boot from Fly London, in a distinctive blue rather than the usual brown or black.
The Mes 2 is an update on the original Mes, with an adhesive sole in place of a stitched one. That construction change makes the fit slightly more generous through the boot and considerably more water resistant, though like any water-resistant leather it handles light rain rather than full saturation.
Fit and comfort: A full length zip on the inner side means the boot opens right up for easy access, and a cushioned footbed carries you through a full day's wear. A decorative buckle and stitching finish the front.
Leather upper, textile lining, and a sturdy rubber outsole. The heel is a small chunky wedge of around 4cm, with Fly London's branding embossed into it, and the boot itself stands roughly 28cm tall with a calf circumference of about 31cm.
Why I'd recommend it
I'd recommend the blue if you want a genuine statement boot rather than a safer neutral colour.
